So what is 'Dear Diary' all about?
Well, when I was a little bit younger than I am now, I used to keep diaries. But not your typical diary with an everyday entry that is meticulously hand-written and will be nothing short of museum-worthy in a 100 years time.
My diary entries started a bit like this…
Dear Diary,
Today is the first day I am writing in you. I really hope I can keep a record everyday. I love keeping diaries. I also love kittens.
Blah, blah, blah.
You get the gist. Well see, after I dated the page I closed up the diary and put it away on my bedboard shelf.
One week goes by. Then another. Next thing you know, a year later I am searching through my drawers for my earrings and voila! My diary resurfaces; slightly yellowed and frayed at the corners. I crack open the cover and peek in. I wonder what words of inspiration i will find.
Yes, after I read my own scribbles of hand-writing and the three line entry of one page I flip through the rest of the blank lined pages. A week later I'm looking for my pen and I find a diary with a cat on the cover in similar disuse.
So here I am. On the interwebs hoping to start anew. Hopefully this online diary will be something I can continually update with stuff I find interesting and want to share with others. This "dear diary" does not include a DO NOT ENTER disclaimer. I want to share my thoughts with the world and hopefully the world can reply to these thoughts and maybe we can start a dialogue! So, hip-hip hooray for diaries!
